This is super important! The vision of the B&B Tea is to equip and empower the mother daughter team to walk through the changes of puberty and beyond in a way that honors the Lord! We keep all topics biological and Biblical, because God designed our bodies, sex and even puberty.

The Bible is true and all of the words therein are the words of God (Hebrews 4:12). We can go to the Bible for wisdom about puberty, sex and anything we face. 

God created Men and Women uniquely different (Genesis 1:24-27- 24). God gave men and women the important job of filling the earth and ruling over it. God created marriage to be a sacred covenant between a man and a woman (Genesis 2:24, Hebrews 13:4). 

God intricately created each of us and knew everything about us at the point of our conception because He loves us (Ps 139:13-18). He loves us so much that he sacrificed his Son to give us freedom from our bad choices and the gift of eternal life (John 3:16).

Sex was created by God to be beautiful. It was created to procreate but sex also makes a husband and wife one in flesh. Sex was designed by God to be between a husband and a wife (Genesis 1:28-31- 28 and Genesis 2:24-25). 

Because he loves, us God created boundaries for sex to keep us safe. The world distorts sex and uses it in a way that can cause so much harm. We need to know God’s rules for sex so that we can enjoy it as God intends (1 John 2:16, 1 Corinthians 6:18-20, 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5). 

We are designed to reflect our creator and to bring Him glory & honor Him with our lives. God asks that we put Him first in all things (Matthew 6:33, Proverbs 31:30).

God has designed our bodies to go through the changes that puberty brings and SO many more. I know this topic can feel super overwhelming and we often feel underprepared as parents to handle the topic well. 

During the Tea, we will talk about what the Bible says about the basics of the male and female bodies, the changes they undergo, sex, and protecting their bodies. The goal for the Tea is to create a foundation for you and your daughter that is Biblical and Biological. We have times of both teaching and discussion for each mother and daughter pair.

We want to equip and empower the mother-daughter team to begin this lifelong conversation as you both grow together! If you have had "the talk" or even part of it, this could be a good refresher. I promise to minimize the awkward and maximize the fun with giveaways and snacks! 

The B&B Tea is geared towards girls 8-11, but could be appropriate for middle schoolers as well. The Tea is appropriate as an introduction to these concepts or as a refresher on information. 

It’s actually super simple, have your pastor/children's/youth pastor reach out! Send us an email and let us know that you are interested and we will get in touch to chat and get a Tea on the schedule. 

B&B Tea is run as a church sponsored event. Churches pay a sponsorship fee of $700 (plus any travel fees) to bring the Tea to their church. This fee covers the 4 hour Tea curriculum, a pdf or QR handbook that walks the participants through the Tea and fun throughout. The fee also covers a link on our website (birdsandbeestea.com) and a promotional image that is shareable. We will also bring a merchandise table with B&B items for purchase. 

The B&B Tea is designed to prepare both mothers and daughters for a lifelong conversation about the way God designed our bodies. We will start with creation and how God made men and women uniquely different. He created them differently for a purpose- that they would be fruitful and multiply. We talk about what that means biologically and how babies grow and are born. Next we discuss how priceless we are to God and how the rules he has put into place for us are to protect us and our bodies. We discuss the changes that are coming during puberty in both their body and their brains. Lastly we discuss how to go through these changes while honoring and respecting both the Lord and parents. The goal is that the Tea starts or continues a conversation between mothers and daughters that will last a lifetime! 

As parents, we want to protect our children from harm and from unnecessary exposure. The way God designed our bodies is not something to be ashamed of or to protect them from, however. If you want to be the first one to talk to your children about sex, you need to start the conversation earlier than you might think. The good news is, they only absorb what their brains can make sense of and the rest is tucked away for later. My daughters come with me to this event often and they always take away something new. 

The B&B Tea is designed with the mother-daughter team in mind. It is a mother’s privilege and honor as a mother to walk through life’s changes with our daughters. There are situations however, that this isn’t possible. There are some times that a grandmother or aunt plays the maternal role in a girl's life. That’s fine, we’d love to have you join us and are thankful you are playing this role in her life! Men are not allowed at the B&B Tea, however, this is women’s only event. 

Put simply, the conversation continues! We have a list of resources we suggest to keep the conversation going. The more we talk about it, the more normal it will become in your home. You can do this mama!
